The Opportunity
You’ll be joining an engineering team of four, owning technical strategy and day‑to‑day coordination as we scale. You’ll chart the architecture, coach engineers, hire the next wave of talent, and keep shipping product that delights users week after week. This role will involve active work on the codebase as well as technical coordination: our CEO has this crazy vision of having a billion users while keeping headcount below 30.

What You’ll Do
Write excellent code, and exemplify best practices in an era where our tooling is changing fast.
Lead and grow the engineering team— mentor ICs, be active in the day to day development, and recruit top talent as we expand.
Make the world a better place by leading builders to create connection between humans, a fundamentally Good Thing.
Instrument reliability and performance so the app loads instantly at 1,000× today’s usage.
Qualifications
Proven experience scaling consumer app(s) to six‑figure+ MAU territory.
Track record of leading engineers on products in the wild—be ready to walk us through the architecture decisions and lessons learned.
Fluency in advanced AI prompting and workflow design—you treat LLMs as mission critical force multipliers.
Hands‑on knowledge of modern web and mobile stacks
Demonstrated success recruiting and coaching humans and integrating automated tooling
Startup‑stage grit: you’re comfortable with ambiguity, shipping fast, and rolling up your sleeves to code or debug infra.
First 90 Days
Help manage the team for our Summer 2025 public debut.
Stand up a production‑grade deployment process (CI/CD, feature flags, fast rollbacks) in coordination with our technical CEO.
Build a plan for load testing and scaling up in a big way
Deliver meaningful user‑visible feature each sprint.
Compensation
